On Tuesday, December 7th, over 200 Washoe County Sheriff Deputy Sheriffs, Sheriff’s Office employees, Washoe County Honorary Deputy Sheriffs, volunteers, family members and one K9 reindeer joined Sheriff Darin Balaam for the 19^th Annual Shop with the Sheriff event.

This year, 250 children, escorted by volunteers, shopped at the Sparks Walmart Supercenter On Pyramid. Each child could spend up to $200 for family gifts. Funding for the event, totaling $50,000, was provided through the Washoe County Honorary Deputy Sheriff’s Association (WCHDSA) and through the inaugural WCHDSA Golf tournament. K9 Ava attended this event with her partner Deputy Harris and had a chance to meet the happy shoppers.

Yesterday, we had a fantastic Meet and Greet event at Scheels and were thrilled able to meet all of you that came out to see us. What a wonderful day!
