Want to meet one or two of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9s along with their deputies? Then plan on dropping by Consign Furniture between 10 am and noon on Saturday, September 10th. Until the event, we don’t know which dogs will be available for this opportunity, but they are all gorgeous animals and are used to being socialized.
The deputies will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the dogs and how they are used. At the same time, you might be able to pick up a copy of the 2023 K9 Partners calendar from the K9 Partners table for a $20 donation. We will also have K9 mugs with the dog’s pictures and statistics available for a $10 donation.
Here’s a sneak peak at the new calendar. A full reveal will be coming up in about two weeks. It’s very exciting with great photos!
All donations will go to K9 Partners to be used for providing for the equipment and training for the dog teams.
Whew! We are finally recovering from last week’s Barks and Badges happening at Bartley Ranch. Were you there? Did you have a great time? Well, those of us in K9 Partners and our terrific volunteers certainly enjoyed meeting people and seeing our Washoe Country K9s go through their skills. Many thanks to Noah Bond from KOLO News, who announced our demonstrations and raffles! Greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all our donors for making this event possible and to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the CERT and Wells Fargo volunteers. Thank you to all the vendors, first responders, and services who came out to participate and to all of our attendees. We couldn’t do it without you!
We do have pictures taken by Diana Lee, our vice president, and we’re happy to share some of those with you.
Barks and Badges is happening this Saturday! We wish to thank KTVN Channel 2 and Andi Cassinari for this great story on Someone to Know! Check out this video on their website.
We hope to see you on Saturday! Remember it’s FREE! Bring the family, but please leave your pets at home.
This year’s Barks and Badges is coming up in just five more days on Saturday, May 14th! The weather forecast looks good for the day, so it will be a great day to come out to see the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9s, their handles, and all the other great First Responders who will be at our event. We’ll also have games for the kids, vendors and exhibitors to visit and of course, great demos from the K9s!
K9 Partners will be at the booth and we have new T-shirts in all sizes from little kidlets to big adults. Take a peak at the new colors! These shirts will not be sold online, only at our events. So come see us!
See a list of our vendors/exhibitors here.
Yesterday, Eric Herzberg at Country Financial Insurance presented K9 Partners with a check to help provide needed equipment for our Washoe County K9s. Two of our dog teams came out the receive the check along with K9 Partners President Patricia Kelly.
Here’s another little video from the team. Happy Easter, everyone!
This is from the Washoe County K-9 Team…

Happy Easter!
Happy 9th Birthday to our handsome Kyago!! Hope you get lots of treats and tummy rubs today, sweet boy!!
It was a happy/sad day as K9 Titus retired from the Washoe County K9 Unit after over six years. His handler Deputy Nemeth recently promoted to Sergeant. Titus will now enjoy life as a loved pet, but he leaves a big hole in the K9 Team. He has garnered many awards while serving Washoe County, being honored as one of the top dogs in the country. Congratulations to Sgt, Nemeth and happy retirement to Titus. We will miss you.
